For the record I am reclaiming rawdog for any of my friends who saw a recent reel - I use this word to describe anything I do w/out a plan or w/out being fully prepped - as in "I am rawdogging dinner tonight" because I have no idea what we are eating or "I am rawdogging my run today" because I can't find my headphones and won't have music!!

And I am not tolerating this as a fake apology: "I am sorry you are upset"!

“I am sorry you feel that way” masquerading as an apology. I gave zero patience for that!!

Technology isn’t helping here either.

Words means things.

BUT according to Albert Mehrabian, a researcher of body language, who first broke down the components of a face-to-face conversation - they only account for 7% of the communication.

He found that communication is 55% nonverbal, 38% vocal, and 7% words only.

Apologies if that feels like mansplaining. Not my intent ;-)

I’m the first to admit my face and tone betray my words (and my true intent) often!!!

Bottom line lesson for me: think before you speak. Still working on that one…

I feel you on my own face and tone speaking volumes for me. And love the data on the communication breakdown - it's so true. I love your approach and I love your constant drive to learn, improve and do! :-)

One that I wish I could un-hear is "bro" and "LFG"...gives me the complete ick. If it wasn't used for everything and I heard it occasionally, I think I'd be able to tolerate it.

Bro/Bruh - OVER them - and the sad overuse of LFG!!!! with ya (though I am guilty of dropping it but not egregiously) xo
