The Power of Reinvention with Liz Svatek
A Real Girls Guide Q&A on voice, legacy, and calling your power back in midlife!
Meet Liz Svatek, a bestselling author, certified rapid transformational therapist, coach, speaker, and the firestarter behind The Liz Svatek Show Podcast, where raw stories and real growth collide. Liz has helped thousands of women in perimenopause and beyond reclaim their identity, purpose, and self-worth, not by shrinking to fit the mold, but by smashing it.
Her work resonates deeply with us at The Real Girls Guide to Over 55, women who are done apologizing, done playing small, and ready to step into what’s next. Liz brings the kind of clarity, joy, and hard-won wisdom that doesn’t just inspire - it activates.
We caught up with Liz for an honest, funny, and deeply moving conversation on what it really means to evolve on your own terms.
1. Identity & Reinvention
Q: You work with thousands of women navigating midlife identity shifts. What are some of the most common limiting beliefs women carry into their 40s and 50s, and how do you help them release those to make space for reinvention?
Liz: "The number one thing I say? Stop weaponizing gratitude."
We’ve been conditioned to squash any whisper that says, “I think there’s more for me,” by drowning it in gratitude. You have a nice house, good partner, beautiful family, fun lunches with friends, and yet something still feels off. Instead of listening, we shame ourselves: I should be more grateful.
I teach women to understand the duality of life. You can love your job and want to pivot. You can be grateful and crave more. You’re allowed to feel stuck and happy in parts of your life at the same time.
The other piece is emotional suppression. So many women have shoved down their feelings for so long, they can’t even feel joy. I help them return to emotional wholeness - no judgment, just curiosity. The depth to which you can feel sadness is the same depth you’ll feel joy. That’s not dysfunction. That’s aliveness.
2. Power & Ambition
Q: You speak powerfully about reclaiming your voice and standing in your truth. How have you seen midlife women redefine their relationship with ambition, money, or leadership - and what blocks do you see them consistently confront?
Liz: Money talk used to feel off-limits. When I started posting about it on social media, my mom told me to take it down, because it wasn’t feminine. But women are done pretending we don’t want independence, influence, or financial freedom.
I work with women who’ve built businesses in the “white space” - expertise in legacy zones, lived wisdom turned income. They don’t want to be tracked, managed, or dependent. They want agency.
Ambition isn’t cutthroat anymore. It’s collaborative, contagious, a light we pass to each other. Women are doing ambition differently now - without the burnout, without the backstabbing, and with legacy in mind.
3. Midlife Voice & Visibility
Q: You’ve built a brand rooted in visibility, truth-telling, and voice. Why do you think so many women feel silenced or unseen in midlife, and how does storytelling help break that pattern?
Liz: Because most of us have spent years shrinking. Playing nice. Carrying the invisible emotional load. And we’re tired.
When women tell their truth in safe spaces - not shame-filled ones - they hold up a loving mirror to each other. It’s not just you starting over, leaving a marriage, or launching a dream at 56. We need those “me too” moments.
When you zoom out, you realize all the pieces of your life - the grief, the joy, the mess - form a mosaic. It doesn’t always make sense up close. But with time and reflection, it’s art. And your story deserves to be seen as such.
Bonus Q: Rapid Transformational Therapy
Q: You’re a practitioner of Rapid Transformational Therapy. For women navigating emotional blocks or identity shifts in midlife, how can RTT help accelerate their healing and clarity?
Liz: RTT is one of the most powerful tools I’ve used. It combines hypnotherapy, NLP, and cognitive behavioral work to quickly uncover the root of what’s keeping you stuck. It’s a deep soul healing, a lightening of your spirit after carrying so much for so long.
In just one 90-minute session, women often find clarity around a limiting belief they’ve carried for decades. Whether it’s self-worth, fear of success, or unhealed grief - RTT helps you not only understand the why, but start to shift it.
It’s not about fixing you. You’re not broken. RTT helps you remember who you were before the world told you who to be. It’s reclaiming all the parts of yourself.
