The Conversations You Started
A few thoughts from our book’s first days out in the world!
Launching a book feels a little like handing someone your journal… equal parts hope and fear… and trusting something true will land. I didn’t know what early readers would take from these pages. I only knew why I wrote them, and what it may cost to say some of these things out loud.
And then your reviews started coming in.
What struck me wasn’t the praise… it was the recognition.
The “oh thank God, it’s not just me” running underneath so many of your words.
Readers are saying things like:
“I didn’t realize how much I needed to hear this.”
“This made me feel less alone.”
“It’s messy and real… finally.”
“No more shrinking.”
When Liz Alterman said the book “hands you the keys,” and Diane Heiler shared that it brings our truths into the light “with warmth and unapologetic strength,” it reminded me why this book exists at all: not to polish midlife into something neat, but to name what’s already been lived.
And seeing your reflections echo that back - that’s what lands.
It tells me the conversations inside the book are becoming conversations out loud.
The quiet parts aren’t staying quiet.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and seeing yourselves in these pages. I’m beyond grateful for each and every one of you.
PS: If you prefer Kindle, the ebook is live and discounted for launch week.
