I spent a lot of years thinking discipline was the answer. A better plan. A better routine. A better system.
But lately I’ve been wondering if the problem isn’t discipline at all.
Most women I know aren’t lacking discipline. They’re carrying too many priorities that no longer belong to them (and maybe never really did): other people’s needs, expectations, emergencies.
Writing seriously gets me thinking about this because one question keeps showing up: what matters now?
Not what mattered ten years ago. Now.
So, what’s taking up space in your life that no longer deserves it?
P.S. This question (and a whole lot of others like it) found their way into the new Real Girls Guide Midlife Workbook.

Thank you, Angela. And...summer is so crazy. There is life...and then there is summer. The schedules and routine fly out the window. And while it is also so much fun, precious really, it is even more of a hustle for moms. And does not give us much time to take care of ourselves. We have a Sisterhood Circle Zoom Live with Q&A next Saturday, where we break down the cultural and psychological underpinnings of all of this. So, we understand we are not alone. Thanks for your writing, so inspiring. Enjoy Summer! Amy
