It's such a brutal grind! I also had a "geriatric" pregnancy — I was 43 when I gave birth to identical twins. I have been a freelancer copywriter for around 20 years, and the only time I have ever taken off was less than 3 months after my kids were born. The pressure to go back to work was real (although I am a freelancer, I am the majority breadwinner for my family). When my kids are grown up (let's say another 10 years?) — and I am in my sixties (!!!!) then maybe I can relax? Ugh.
The grind sure is SO real! So is the pressure - and you nailed it - let's hope we get some relief in our 60s!! Thank you so much for sharing this Joslyn. Have always been inspired by you.
